JESSIE J has been forced to pay £1million to the manager she dumped before she hit the big-time.
Protege ... music mogul Raymond Stevenson with Jessie J
Music mogul Raymond Stevenson discovered the singer when she was 15 — and came up with her trademark “swagger”.Jessie and her management company had been in dispute with Stevenson for almost two years but will now finally meet his demands.Jessie, 25 — coach on BBC1’s The Voice — will hand over 20 per cent of her earnings from hit album Who You Are, said to currently total £5million.
It will come as a huge financial blow to the star — who sings “it’s not about the money, money, money” on No 1 hit Price Tag. Last night a music industry source told The Sun: “This is an absolutely massive payout.“Jessie is signed to the type of huge label who usually just get what they want.“Ray is extremely well respected, but he runs a relatively small operation and Jessie’s people thought he would just roll over.”Stevenson, who runs management agency 141a, discovered Jessie — real name Jessica Cornish — a decade ago when she was at The Brit music school. He signed her to a label at 19 — and when it went bust, he forked out £70,000 of his own cash to buy her out of the contract.Stevenson later took Jessie to the US and introduced her to top music industry execs, including former US X Factor judge LA Reid. But when they got back to the UK she got industry giants Crown — who also act for the Sugababes and Ellie Goulding — to represent her. They brokered a deal with Universal and Jessie has since released six UK Top Ten singles, including two No 1s.Last week she was named on the Sunday Times Rich List after raking in an £8million fortune to date.Last night Jessie and 141a released a joint statement saying: “The parties have reached an amicable resolution.”And Stevenson added: “141a is very proud of Jessie’s achievements — she is a very talented artist.”
Jessie J wants hopes to channel her individual sense of style into designing her own clothing range The 'Price Tag' singer thinks she would encourage people to be as fearless with their look as she is.
She said: "I'd love to have a fashion range. I've been dressed by the amazing Vivienne Westwood and fashion is something I'm a huge fan of. "I've never been a follower. The only people I look at for style are Rihanna and Nicki Minaj."
However, the feisty singer - who recently shaved her head in aid of Comic Relief - has decided to take charge of her own look and tone down her image because she felt her love of accessories and bold catsuits were detracting from her powerful voice. Jessie, 25, told Top of the Pops magazine: "I have calmed down my look. Is it really necessary to wear all that jewellery and make-up at 7am? When you're tired you start to overcompensate by wearing too much bling.
"I love getting dressed up, but I want to be remembered for my singing. I'm styling myself at the moment. Fashion is something that I love to do."
The Voice coach made her return to the stage after shaving her head.
Jessie J has showed off her toned stomach in a number of snaps posted on Instagram. The Nobody's Perfect singer donned just a bra top, PVC jacket and fitted trousers for the snaps, which were taken before and after her gig in London on Wednesday (April 24) - Jessie's first show since shaving her hair off for Comic Relief

"Trying to make the rail sexy and I even cropped the steamer out! Roar! Lol."
The Voice coach also did squats in another snap, while posing for a photo with her bodyguards and joking: "Love my security team! Mark and Dave! Who is who! #teambald."
The 25-year old later uploaded a pic of herself on stage, and said: "Wow first show with short hair! Amazing! Now I get why men have towels on stage! I need towels now! Lol."
In another stunning pic, Jessie added: "Sweaty after show! Now to the studio I go! Working hard! Feels good to be back! Massive shout out to the crowd you were killer tonight! What a vibe!"

Singer Jessie J paid a visit to her doctor on the last Friday after suffering pain in her ankle.
The Price Tag hitmaker broke a bone in her left foot during tour
rehearsals in June, 2011 and she spent months wearing a surgical boot
and hobbling around on crutches.
After her cast was removed, the 25 year old defied doctors orders
and began wearing high heels again, even as she continued to recover,
and now the star appears to be struggling with the repercussions.
On Friday, Jessie J posted a photo on Twitter.com of her visiting a
physical therapist's office, where she is featured lying down on a
treatment table, alongside a caption which reads, "Come on foot. I
believe in you. Pop back in and behave! Ouch!"
The singer's comments prompted worried fans to reach out to Jessie J
over fears she had sustained a new injury, but she later clarified her
earlier post, tweeting, "Just to explain... I broke my foot 2 years ago
in June. I had reconstructive ankle surgery. I had a bone transplant, a
fusion and a metal plate and 4 bolts. So sometimes the bone slips and it
needs popping back in. It's painful but it's fine. I am still having
physio but i haven't broken it again."

Jessie J's Domino was the most played pop song in the UK last year. The single, originally released in 2011, beat songs by Emile Sande, Rihanna and Carley Rae Jepsen according to a list compiled by the music licensing organisation PPL.
PPL's
rankings are drawn from a combination of radio play, the use of songs
in TV shows and licensing data for music played in pubs, shops and
clubs. "[It] is always an impressive insight into what the nation has
been listening to the previous year," said PPL's PR and communications
Jonathan Morrish.
Jessie J's Domino reached No 1 in January 2012, more than four months
after it entered the chart at No 54. It stayed at the top for two
weeks. The song is a surprising leader of PPL's list: We Found Love, by
Rihanna and Calvin Harres, spent six weeks in the chart's top spot, and in terms of pure sales, Domino was only 2012's sixth-bestselling single.
The runners-up on PPL's list include Gotye's Somebody That I Used to Know, which was officially the bestselling song of 2012, Sandé's Next To Me and Maroon 5's Moves Like Jagger. We Found Love is at No 8, just ahead of Jepsen's pop favourite Call Me Maybe and another Maroon 5 track, Payphone.
Most played pop songs of 2012:
1 Jessie J – Domino
2 Gotye ft Kimbra – Somebody That I Used to Know
3 Emeli Sandé – Next to Me
4 Maroon 5 – Moves Like Jagger
5 David Guetta ft Sia – Titanium
6 Olly Murs – Dance with Me Tonight
7 Kelly Clarkson – Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)
The 'Domino' singer takes to Twitter to tell her fans the good news and that she "can't wait" to get going.
Jessie J has confirmed that she will be kicking off her campaign for her new album next month.
The 'Who's Laughing Now' recently announced that she had selected the
tracklisting and first single from her next record, but logged onto
Twitter last night (17th April) to update her fans further.
"Next month (May) my campaign kicks off!! I can't wait!! New music!! I'm b b b b back!! #Heartbeats," she wrote.
The singer spent time in Los Angeles and was pictured in the studio with the likes of Fazer as she tweeted updates to her fans throughout the past twelve months.
The new album will be the follow up to 2011's 'Who You Are', which
produced such hit singles as 'Do It Like A Dude', 'Domino' and 'Price
Tag'.
Meanwhile, Jessie is currently appearing on the new series of The Voice UK and hit out at critcism over her performances on the show this week.
She logged onto her social networking account to declare that she
doesn't expect to please everyone but told people to treat others as you
expect to be treated.
The 'Who You Are' singer makes a lengthy post about her latest appearance on the show.
Jessie J has hit out at the latest criticism of The Voice and said she doesn't expect everyone to be a fan of her.
The 'Who You Are' star logged onto her social networking account to
address comments she was facing on her feed and said it's not
"realistic" to think everyone will agree with her opinion on the series.
"Ok... Think about this... For real do you (the person reading
this) think if you was on TV that every person watching you would like
you? Would agree with what you say? What you're wearing. Your
personality? Nope. It's not realistic ."
"You can't
be liked by everyone and neither can I So... If you think I'm irritating
or hate me. By all means cuss the tv all night long if you want if
that's what you get a kick out of. But why go out of your way to tweet
me about how you feel about me if it's mean ?"
"(For
those who do) I would never do that to anyone else and if I did people
would say it's wrong! So if you do it to me it doesn't make it right.
Think about it. Treat people how you want to be treated."
"And view people with the understanding of what if that was me. How would I feel?..."
The Voice Judges
The tweets have since been deleted by the singer who has also previously hit out at claims she has ever acted like a "diva" in the show"
Meanwhile, Jessie was recently seen on the field at Tottenham Hotspur receiving a shirt from former Spurs star Ledley King as she joined her dad for a match.
Singer gets an even shorter crop for fashion part
The Voice judge had a couple of millimetres shaved off her barnet yesterday
before a night out with acclaimed fashion photographer Rankin. She was attending the Hunger magazine launch as one of six cover stars shot by
the snapper for the latest issue.
Looking delighted with her new look, she struck a cheeky pose with Rankin, who
gave an approving wink as he cosied up to the Domino singer.
Jessie showed off her flawless skin in a dramatic panelled dress that was
split to the thigh and held up by the tiny spaghetti straps.
A pair of gold hoop earrings and some summery coral lip gloss allowed her
blonde hair to take centre stage.
Jessie posted a picture of her outfit on Twitter before she headed out with
the caption: “Let’s party!”
The lithe star looked striking in a pair of towering studded platform shoes
with a cool white lips-shaped handbag.
Jessie says she’s got no regrets about shaving her head to raise money for
Comic Relief last month — because it saves her so much time getting
ready.
She said: “Shaving your head is the most exhilarating feeling and it’s so much
easier in the morning and so much quicker.”
After dying it blonde a week ago, she revealed the results of a —
presumably short — salon visit on her Instragram page before the
party.
She joked: “If you look closely I’ve actually believe or not had a tiny teeny
weeny haircut lol.”

The 'Do It Like A Dude' was watching the Premier League team with her Dad and also met Ledley King.
Jessie J was pictured among the crowd watching the Premier League football clash
between Tottenham Hotspur and Everton at White Hart Lane this weekend.
The 'Who's Laughing Now' singer was also presented with her own special
commemorative t-shirt with her name and the number one on the back by
Spurs' former star Ledley King. Commenting on some of the photos she saw of herself at the game, she wrote: "I look like such a tourist lol! Well 'appy! Thank you Spurs for such a lovely day for my Dad and I!…" She also posted her shot alongside the former England defender and said she was glad to have met the now retired footballer. "And the man Ledley King was kind enough to say hello! Was lovely to meet you :)," she added.
The singer also faced a backlash on Twitter from fans who were upset at her team choice, something which she defended. She tweeted: "2-2 come on Spurs! I'm ignoring the saddos on my TL cussing my team choice! Smh! Seriously! We all different yo! Deal wid it!"
Jessie also revealed that she was forced to change her attire after arriving in a red dress. "I was invited by Spurs to see the game today as my Dad is a huge
fan! I wore a RED dress #fail! (No other reason other than I love red)
so when I arrive to the chairmans dinner.. .
"I was like a voice chair in a room full of people wearing grey
and navy! So I bought a hoody and a scarf to look less *red* meanwhile
my Dad is telling everyone "I should of told her when is saw her in red"
lmao!" Meanwhile, the singer is currently appearing on TV screens for the latest series of The Voice and hit out at claims over haer "diva" behaviour which surfaced after the first episode. Fellow coach Danny O'Donoghue also jumped to the defence of the singer when questioned about similar stories.
Jessie J has insisted she doesn't have a bad attitude and doesn't deserve her 'diva' reputation.
Jessie J insists she's no diva.
The
'Price Tag' singer - who is currently a judge on 'The Voice' UK - is
furious people believe she's got a big ego and a massive entourage
waiting on her hand and foot, and is adamant the claims couldn't be further from the truth.
She
sighed: ''I don't think there has been any TV show where a woman hasn't
had a diva stamp. I don't want anyone to think that's what I am because
I'm not.
''I'm the total opposite. I have eight people in my team, not 50. You can't win. I realise that happens to women.''
The
25-year-old star has recently switched up her look, swapping her funky
catsuits and trademark bob for a more sophisticated style and a shaved blonde crop, which she thinks mirrors her more grown up outlook on life.
Jessie - who sheared off her hair to raise money for charityComic Relief - added in an interview with the Daily Mirror newspaper: ''I'm more of a woman now. I'm having fun and still want to have fun. But it doesn't mean I have to wear a leotard now.
''I did that cartoony, crazy, dark-haired bob look and I loved it. But I have less make-up now. I feel like I've grown up.
''I was 17 when I got signed, 22 for my first single and now I'm 25. My album feels more mature.''
Singer’s rant as critics slam her role on The Voice
Viewers and critics slammed the Price Tag singer as “charmless”, “an
attention-seeking t*t” and a “show-off” after Saturday night’s launch on
BBC1.
But Jessie — a coach on the show alongside Will.i.am, Danny O’Donoghue and Sir
Tom Jones — answered back in tweets to her six million followers.
She wrote: “And we hung out when? An edited version is never the full story.
“You wouldn’t write a review on a book after reading 3 pages would you?”
She added: “When you go to bitch about someone you have never met... Think...
for a second before you do... ‘Oh yeah I have NEVER met them’.”
In yesterday’s Sun, TV critic Ally Ross said: “But what really kills the mood
is the malign presence of Jessie J, who still mistakes being charmless,
rude, egotistical and unpleasant for being ‘real’.”
Other critics dismissed the singer as a “show-off”, with one sniping: “I was
beginning to wish Jessie had decided on a sponsored silence for Comic Relief
rather than shaving her head.”
Viewers also pitched in. Leia Farnan said on Twitter: “She makes everything
about her.”
Olivia Stewart said: “Been watching The Voice for one minute and I already
want to slap Jessie J. Sit down you attention-seeking t*t.” And Perry Payne
added: “It doesn’t take Jessie J very long to continue where she left off,
attention seeking and annoying everyone.”
The show failed to triumph in the head-to-head ratings battle with Ant and
Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, which pulled in an average of 7.2million
viewers.
The Voice got just 6.2million, way down on the 8.4million audience who tuned
in for the start of the first series last year.
Saturday’s opening show included impressive auditions from Will.i.am lookalike
Matt Henry, Mike Ward, Ash Morgan, Andrea Begley and Leanne Jarvis.
But Nineties’ pop sensation Kavana — real name Anthony Kavanagh — was sent
packing with a string of other wannabes.
